These are all w.i.p.s (work in progress)…I’ll post the finish product as soon as it emerges from the depths of the studio….
Connection is rather the account of a separation. It is not clear whether the last bit of communication between the figures is about to break down or if it is barely starting to develop…

A Tale of Two Sisters speaks of sameness and the existence of small differences within that degree of similarity…The differences do not constitute blemishes but create the individual and unique personality of each sister…

Red Coat Pilot…is in transit. To where exactly…I don’t know. I don’t think he knows either. He’s being guided by a bright star…although he’s not really looking at it. He stands vigilant inside his little nutshell/boat…Perhaps he’ll abort the journey and climb up the ladder towards the star…It’s one way to escape…

Here we are (I am behind the camera) pinning up the artwork…A few glitches (minor)
and it all came together quite beautifully…

…and this is when the pushing part started…It got very crowded…but it was fun…

I guess the closest translation I can come up with is “tentatively” or “precariously”…This is a common expression in Spanish and it means that something is not quite solid or for sure…Held together merely by pins….
I find it appropriate to describe some recent personal events…although, come to think of it, pretty much everything seems to be transitory and disposable these days.
Tonight I have a spot at the Pushpin Show in Santa Fe waiting for my three pieces to be “unveiled”. I am a bit nervous about it but the concept was so well timed and so in line with how I feel about life in general that I could not overlook the irony of participating in such exhibit. I am very curious to see the work of the other artists and I am sure that I am in for a few surprises. If you wish to see photos of the opening, go to www.pushpinshow.com . I will be posting photos of my three pieces as soon as they are available.
